Jorge Masvidal vs Luis Palomino co-headline GForce: ‘Bad Blood 3′ in Miami on Feb. 4
Bellator Fighting Championships and American Top Team product Jorge Masvidal is set to fight against Luis Palomino in the co-main event of GForce: 'Bad Blood 3' in Miami tomorrow, February 4, according to The Miami Herald.
"Gamebred" (19-4) has won 13 of his last 15 fights spending most of his time under the Sengoku and Bellator banners. Most fans however, remember Masvidal for being on the receiving end of the unquestionable submission of the year in 2009, when Toby Imada sunk in an inverted triangle choke against him at Bellator V.
"Baboon" (12-6), the much smaller fighter coming into the catch-weight bout at 158, has also spent some time fighting for Bellator. Despite his lack of experience and the advantage in size that Masvidal holds over him, Palomino says he has been waiting for this fight his whole career.
"Masvidal is a prize for me," Palomino said. "When I went to my first live MMA show, he was the main event, and he won impressively. As soon as I saw that fight I said, ‘One day I want to fight this guy.' Ever since we've gotten to know each other in the locker room, and there's always been talk of us fighting each other at some point, and finally GForce made it happen."
A win over Masvidal would undoubtedly by the highlight of his MMA career to date, and Palomino seems intent on pulling the upset.
"I want this fight so bad that I don't care about being the smaller guy,'" Palomino said. "He fights at 155 and walks around at 180. There are even rumors that he may not make that weight of 158 that he came up with, but I don't care how much he weighs. I want this fight. I'm ready for this fight. I'm determined for this fight, and I know I want this more than he does. I'm winning this."
GForce: 'Bad Blood 3' is set to take place on February 4 from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fl. The card will be headlined by a match up between highly touted Bellator fighter Hector Lombard and Joey Gorczynski.
